Village newsletter launched - fighting for the whole of South Belfast Media file available

Máirtín and Alex launch the new newsletter.

Speaking after South and East Belfast Sinn Féin today launched its new newsletter for the Greater Village area of South Belfast, Alex Maskey MLA and the Party's Balmoral representative Máirtín Ó Muilleoir have said that Sinn Féin is committed to representing and fighting for all of the people of South Belfast and that this new newsletter, the first in the Village area, will ensure that residents in the area will be kept up to date with the work that Sinn Féin is doing on their behalf. 1,000 copies of the Sinn Féin newsletter have been delivered in the past two weeks within the Greater Village area. Sinn Féin continue to push for Equality at Castlereagh Council

South Belfast Sinn Féin MLA and Castlereagh South representative James Irwin have said that they continue to press Castlereagh Borough Council and the Equality Commission on the issue of Catholic under-representation in the Council's workforce. Alex Maskey also added that he will be writing to the Environment Minister to highlight the matter. Ó Donnghaile condemns attack on St Matthews Chapel

Sinn Féin representative for east Belfast Niall Ó Donnghaile has slammed those responsible for an attack on St Mathews Chapel last night and has called for community leaders from all sections of the community to show leadership in order to send a clear message to those behind it. The church had paint thrown at it and several of its exterior spotlights smashed, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage. Read full article

Ó Muilleoir welcomes City Council support for Libsurn Road traders

Sinn Féin's Balmoral representative Máirtín Ó Muilleoir has welcomed last night's decision by Belfast City Council to back Sinn Féin's proposal to allocate £12,500 of a £25,000 underspend in the city development budget to the Lisburn Road Business Association to help retailers battle the worst recession in living memory.
