DUP running away from Assembly pay-reform

South Belfast Sinn Féin MLA Alex Maskey has called on the DUP to explain why they are pulling the plug on a Bill (Allowances to members of the Assembly (Repeal) Bill) passing through accelerated passage in the Assembly, which would see the power to dictate MLA's wages and pay increases taken away from MLA's and transferred to an independent oversight body. European Parliament condemns Israeli attack against the flotilla

Sinn Féin MEP Bairbre de Brún, who co-signed the resolution voted on last week, welcomed the European Parliament vote condemning the recent Israeli attack against the flotilla saying that "Israel should take note of the near unanimity on this issue and immediately end the blockade on Gaza" Read full article

Sinn Féin representative for Pottinger Niall Ó Donnghaile has expressed his concern at yet another report of dangerously low-flying planes in east Belfast. Maskey welcomes commitment from Ford on legal services review

Sinn Féin Policing and Justice spokesperson Alex Maskey MLA has welcomed today's announcement from the Justice Minister David Ford that he is to begin a wide ranging review of substantial elements of the criminal justice system.
